With the arrival of good weather, we often see the start of construction around the county. This summer, the Kennedy Street Bridge is to be closed for infrastructure improvements.
We at the Chamber would like to encourage everyone to patronize the businesses affected by this project.
Rosie’s Soup N Such, Sabaidee Coffee House, and McCartan’s Grocery are to be affected during this closing. Rosie’s Soup N Such offers home cooked breakfast and lunch items, Sabaidee Coffee House offers coffee, smoothies, crepes and other breakfast items, and McCartan’s Grocery offers groceries and fresh cut meats since 1875.

With the new BWC prospective billing policy, Ohio’s private employers are now enjoying a number of benefits, including more flexible payment options, better customer service, and a $1 billion premium credit provided by BWC to avoid double-billing employers during the switch.
However, to fully complete the transition, the payroll true-up is coming in July. This is a new process that requires employers to report their actual payroll for the previous policy year and reconcile any difference in premium paid.
Congratulations to Concordance Healthcare Solutions—previously Seneca Medical—for their recent receipt of ProMedica’s Philanthropy Award! The Tiffin-based, privately owned medical supply company was recently awarded for their work to address hunger and food insecurity within Seneca County. The award-winning program assesses hunger within the community and distributes meal kits, as part of ProMedica’s Food at Discharge Program. Employees volunteered their time and effort to implement this program. Thank you for your service to our community!

The 42nd National Depression Glass Association Convention Show and Sale is being held in Tiffin this year, making it the first time held in Ohio and only the fourth time across the Mississippi.
Receiving the distinction of the first time the National Depression Glass Association has brought its national convention to Ohio, many are still left to ask: why Tiffin? That draw comes from Tiffin’s rich glass history.
The Tiffin Glass Company began as A. J. Beatty & Sons in Steubenville.
“Tiffin was located in the middle of the gas belt which brought glass companies in the area because of the cheap natural gas that was discovered in the late 1800s. The area was known for its glass production,” collector and show-co chair Tom Maiberger said.
