Tiffin University and Terra State Community College Announce DragonNext, an Innovative Dual Admission Program
February 10, 2020

Note to news media: You are invited to the signing on Feb. 14 at 9:30 a.m. in the President’s Suite of Seitz Hall on Tiffin University’s campus.

TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, Tiffin, OH—Terra State Community College (TSCC) and Tiffin University (TU) will roll out DragonNext, an innovative dual admission program on February 14, 2020.

Benefit to Students

While enrolled at TSCC, DragonNext students will have access to many services and programs at TU that are generally not available until a student enrolls. This includes access to TU’s Office of Career Services, library privileges and academic resources, like tutoring and use of Murphy Academic Center. DragonNext students will be able to attend athletic and other student activities offered by both institutions, and may be eligible for a transfer scholarship once they complete their associate’s degree.

How it Works

Students apply and are admitted directly out of high school or as a college transfer student. In either case, students would begin the program by applying for an associate degree at TSCC, while purposely planning to transfer to TU for bachelor degree completion. This program requires that students must be accepted by TSCC and TU. Students will be able to take one class a semester (for up to four semesters) at TU at TSCC’s tuition price.

“The DragonNext Program provides a great cost-benefit advantage for students,” said Dr. Lillian Schumacher, TU President. “By partnering with TSCC students will have access to many benefits offered by TU while completing their associate degree at TSCC. This dual admission program is intended to provide a seamless transition and it aligns perfectly with TU’s strategic focus on student success. We are thrilled to continue our 20+ year partnership with TSCC.”

“We at Terra State Community College are excited to enter into this dual enrollment agreement with Tiffin University,” said Dr. Ron Schumacher, TSCC President. “Our students will have the opportunity to experience college at both institutions in their chosen fields of study. Students are our number one priority. TSCC and TU have made it our collective responsibility to provide opportunities to launch students into a successful future. The DragonNext Program is one way in which we are serving our students and our region.”
