Learn how to become an apprentice and more at ironworkerslocal55.com.  An apprentice learns all the necessary technical and safety skills necessary to prepare themselves for a career in their desired trade through a strict training program that combines classroom instruction and on-the-job experience.

Ironworkers Local 55 is dedicated to providing our apprentices with only the very best, up-to-date training practices so that they are the most qualified professionals within the region’s building and construction industry.

Our four-year training program requires 6,300 hours of on-the-job training with journeymen mentors in addition to 893 of related classroom instruction. During this period, apprentices earn while they learn, receiving escalating wages as they progress throughout the four-year program.

With a curriculum covering everything from trade mathematics and blueprint reading to welding and forklift safety training, we ensure that our apprentices are equipped with all the knowledge and technical skills necessary to not only complete the training program, but thrive in a long, successful career within the ironworking industry.
