Leadership Seneca County Class of 2022 Explores and Learns about the County
October 14, 2021

The Leadership Seneca County Class of 2022 met  October 13th.  The class meets once a month, and each month presents a different activity and line-up of events to learn more about Seneca County as a whole and is held in different locations each month.  The October meeting was held at Camden Falls Reception & Conference Center and focused on deep diving into the history of Seneca County followed by a scavenger hunt throughout the whole county.

The class was split into groups and each group ended up at 6 different locations in Seneca County.  At each location, groups were able to learn about the specific business or organization, the history behind it, and the impact on the local community.  Between all the groups, the class of 2022 visited more than 20 different locations.  One group’s stops included Greenlawn Cemetery, Hedges-Boyer Park, The Old Fort Banking Company, the P.M. Gillmor Old Fort Birdge, the Gillmor Ordance, Church & Dwight, and monuments located around Downtown Tiffin.  Upon returning from the scavenger hunt, each group presented an overview of the different locations they visited, allowing the whole class to get a deeper inside look into the different places within Seneca County.

To finish the October session, the class heard from Audrey Flood, Development Manager from the Tiffin Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP), to hear about developments and projects in Seneca County.  As part of graduating from the Leadership Seneca County program, each class completes a project of their choosing.  After hearing from TSEP, exploring the county, and hearing Seneca County history, the class continued to brainstorm projects that could have a sustainable impact on Seneca County.  The next session for the class of 2022 will be held in November and will continue to build up leadership skills and knowledge of Seneca County within the class participants.
