Discussion: What’s happening in Seneca County?

Thursday, November 1, 2018 - 6:30pm

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will host a panel discussion “What’s happening in Seneca County?” on Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Frost Kalnow Room as part of the Foundation Speakers series.

A panel will discuss the opiate epidemic in Seneca County, the PIVOT program and drug court, and recovery resources in Seneca County. Panelists include representatives from Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Counseling and Recovery Services, METRICH Enforcement Unit, and the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties. This event is free and open to the public. No registration required.

Sam Quinones, author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic, is this year’s Foundation Speaker. He will visit Tiffin on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Tiffin University’s Marion Center. An opiate awareness resource fair will take place before the presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Foundation Speakers series brings an outstanding writer, artist, or public figure to inform and engage the community once each year and provides the chance to gain insight and inspiration directly from those helping to shape our culture and our world. The series is made possible through generous funding by the Tiffin-Seneca Library Foundation and the many donors who have contributed to the Foundation over the years.  Please call 419-447-3751 or log on to www.tiffinsenecalibrary.org for more information.
