Foundation Speaker: Sam Quinones

Thursday, November 8, 2018 - 5:30pm

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will be holding a “Hidden in Plain Sight” interactive display on Thursday, October 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Junior Home Room as part of the Foundation Speakers series.

Adults are welcome to stop by and see this interactive exhibit from CARSA (Community Action for Reducing Substance Abuse). Participants will inspect a model of a teen’s bedroom to learn common places drugs and alcohol may be hidden and to identify indicators of substance use and high-risk teen behavior. This is a free event and open to the public. No registration required.

Sam Quinones, author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic, is this year’s Foundation Speaker. He will visit Tiffin on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Tiffin University’s Marion Center. An opiate awareness resource fair will take place before the presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Foundation Speakers series brings an outstanding writer, artist, or public figure to inform and engage the community once each year and provides the chance to gain insight and inspiration directly from those helping to shape our culture and our world. The series is made possible through generous funding by the Tiffin-Seneca Library Foundation and the many donors who have contributed to the Foundation over the years.  Please call 419-447-3751 or log on to tiffinsenecalibrary.org for more information.
