Tiffin University’s Science Club will host its first event featuring Dr. Cameron McCarthy on Sept. 18 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Chisholm Auditorium inside Franks Hall. He will present “Reconstruction of autophagy ameliorates vascular function and arterial stiffening in hypertension.” The event is open to the public.
Dr. McCarthy is an AHA Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. A postdoctoral fellow is a person professionally conducting research after the completion of their doctoral studies. At the University of Toledo, he is part of the department of physiology and pharmacology. Dr. McCarthy’s research interest is accelerated aging contributing to a deterioration of vascular function.
