Seneca County Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program: Learn about ....

Tuesday, September 15, 2020 - 6:00pm

Seneca County Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists are planning to lead a hike through Howard Collier State Nature Preserve at 6 p.m. Sept. 15.

The meeting place is the preserve parking lot, 1655 W. TR 38, Tiffin.

OCVN volunteers will talk about the preserve's history, but mostly this will be a hike along the trail to see what Collier offers in late summer/early fall. Participants should be prepared to walk up and down steps.

No registration is required, but please plan to use social distancing for safety.

The local OCVN program, sponsored by the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center and Seneca Parks, graduated its first class of OCVNs in spring 2019, and is looking forward to another class in late winter/early spring 2021.

To be placed on a list of people interested in receiving more information about the OCVN program, contact Seneca Parks Executive Director Sarah Betts at 419-447-8091 or sbetts@senecacountyparks.com, or Sister Shirley Shafranek at sshafranek@felctiffin.org or 419-448-7485.

The October hike is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Fruth Wetland at Fruth Outdoor Center, 10130 W. SR 18, Fostoria.
