            The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will welcome Steve Lopez, author of The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music, on Tuesday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m. at The Chandelier Community Event Center.

            The Soloist is the true story of journalist Steve Lopez’s discovery of Nathaniel Ayers, a former classical bass student at Julliard, playing his heart out on a two-string violin on Los Angeles’s Skid Row.  Deeply affected by the beauty of Ayers’s music, Lopez took it upon himself to change the prodigy's life—only to find that their relationship would have a profound change on his own. Copies of the book are available at the Library.  The e-book and audiobook is available on the Ohio Digital Library and the Libby app.

            Books will be available for purchase at the event, and a Q & A session and book signing will follow the author’s presentation. The event is free and open to the public.

 Lopez was originally scheduled to visit Tiffin in April 2020 as the featured author in the 2020 Community Read.
