Annual Tiffin-Seneca Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Community Celebration, "Reimaging the Dream (Virtual)

Monday, January 17, 2022 - 7:00pm

The online event will be hosted by students from Tiffin and Heidelberg Universities, and includes opening remarks by NAACP representative, Joni Pinskey and Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz.  Dr. Regina Vincent-Williams will provide the keynote address. She is the recently named president of the Sandusky County Health Department, serves as president of the Fremont NAACP, is an Adjunct Professor at Tiffin University and is an author, poet and motivational speaker. 

Video readings of essays by Tiffin area school children will address the question “Who is Martin Luther King, Jr. and who is like him today?”

Amber Herbert will be the recipient of this year’s Peacemaker Award.  Herbert, the foster mother of five children exemplifies the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.  Whenever and wherever she sees a need she responds whether it is collecting and cleaning hundreds of stuffed animals for a “Halloween Trunk or Treat” school event, collecting gifts and toys for 503 children as part of  “A Christmas for Every Child” or responding to people in need through the social media site “Helping Hands Seneca County.” 

Choral selections will be provided by the Heidelberg University Community Chorus under the direction of Dr. Greg Ramsdell.
