Tiffin native, Kate Wertz is the founder and owner of both Rose & Co. Mercantile and her newest business, Events by Rose & Co.

Rose & Co. Mercantile is a boutique store in downtown, specializing in locally made and produced goods. They also host hands-on ticketed DIY workshops for the public where guests can create things like succulent planters, charcuterie boards, wreaths, arrangements, and more.

At Rose & Co., Kate began creating custom floral arrangements for her customers’ weddings, homes, and gatherings, as well as providing decorating and wedding advice. She realized that the community valued and needed her design style and knowledge. When it came to her own wedding, Kate found that quality décor rentals were hard to come by in Seneca County.

From Kate’s previous design experience in the wedding industry and the community’s need for décor rentals and advice, Events by Rose & Co. was born! Renting décor is much more financially friendly and less stressful than purchasing everything yourself. Events by Rose & Co. offers event design and décor options, vintage furniture, backdrops, table décor, faux and dried floral arrangements, and even day-of-coordination. They want to make decorating and planning your event accessible, financially responsible, and sustainable by offering the option to rent instead of buying everything.
