Leadership Seneca County 2024 Class Project Supports Sisters in Shelter
February 01, 2024

Leadership Seneca County announced a raffle to support Sisters in Shelter. Each year, a project is chosen by the class to focus on over the 10-month course, and the 2024 class has chosen to support Sisters in Shelter. The class is working to inspire change, and strengthen our community through this project.

Raffle tickets are on sale now for the annual fundraiser. There are 3 prizes available:

  • Prize #1: ¼ 100% Certified Angus Beef with processing donated by Daniel Farms
  • Prize # 2: a whole Hog and processing fee donated by Christina Schmitz
  • Prize #3: an 8-hour reservation with the Renaissance Party Bus, donated by Dave Spridgeon.

The drawing will take place at the Sisters in Shelter Decade of Freedom Celebration on April 25, 2024, where the class will also hold a silent auction. Winners do not need to be present to win the raffle prizes, although guests are encouraged to attend to learn more about the work Sisters in Shelter does in the local community. Event details are coming soon.

”We are so grateful to the Leadership Seneca County class and the community for supporting Sisters in Shelter,” says Director Jennifer Kin. “Proceeds from the raffle will support the shelter which provides a safe haven, medical, and emotional care for human trafficking survivors following the incredible trauma they have undergone.”

Tickets are available for purchase through current members of the Leadership Seneca County Class by contacting the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce at 419-447-4141. Tickets can also be purchased at Downtown Tiffin Trivia Night on Thursday, February 8, Downtown Tiffin’s Third Thursday Event ‘Taste of Downtown Tiffin II’, Tiffin Art Guild, JAM’s Monthly Markets on March 14 through the 17.

Sisters in Shelter, which began in 2005, is a non-profit organization that supports survivors and  illuminates the atrocities of human trafficking through community education and advocacy. Sisters in Shelter provides critical first needs for women survivors of human trafficking: emergency safe housing, medical care, safety planning, and legal advocacy.
