The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will present “Adult Mental Health First Aid Training” on Monday, October 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Frost Kalnow Room as part of the 2019 Foundation Speakers series.
Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives people the skills to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.
Presented by Laura Miller, LISW-S and Jessica Richards, LISW-S from Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services. Limited to 25 participants. Registration is required by calling 419-447-3751.
Kevin Hines, author of Cracked, Not Broken: Surviving and Thriving After A Suicide Attempt, is this year’s Foundation Speaker. He will visit Tiffin on Thursday, October 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Tiffin University’s Marion Center.
The Foundation Speakers series brings an outstanding writer, artist, or public figure to inform and engage the community once each year and provides the chance to gain insight and inspiration directly from those helping to shape our culture and our world. The series is made possible through generous funding by the Tiffin-Seneca Library Foundation and the many donors who have contributed to the Foundation over the years.
