Emphasis on PRINT READING including lines, abbreviations, terminology, view identification, dimensioning practices, dimensioning calculations, Tolerancing calculations, and sketching including orthographic, isometric, section, and auxiliary views.

The course objective is for students to gain a basic proficiency for understanding and manipulating technical drawings and associated conventions. The course material for Print Reading and Sketching includes the alphabet of lines, orthographic projection, ordinary views, section views, auxiliary views, pictorial sketching, dimensioning, Tolerancing, screw threads and fasteners, mathematics for design and an introduction to geometric dimensioning and tolerances.

Course Objectives:
The following is a list of topics that will be taught within the course:
1. Geometric constructions
2. Multiview projection
3. Sectional views
4. Auxiliary views
5. Dimensioning including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
6. Tolerancing including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
7. Threads and fasteners
8. Isometric projection
9. Design and working drawings
10. Read gear drawings
11. Read welding drawings

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Cost: $1150

Length: 16 hours
